Brazilian firm Cascione Pulino Boulos Advogados has helped the controlling shareholders of two solar power plants in the south-eastern state of Minas Gerais obtain finance worth some 200 million reais (US$54 million).
Controlling shareholder Global Power Generation (GPG), a subsidiary of Spain’s Naturgy Energy Group, got the credit line from the Brazilian state-owned development bank (BNDES) for its Guimarania I Solar and Guimarania II Solar projects. BNDES was advised by in-house counsel. The deal closed on 10 July.
The financing is the first GPG has obtained from BNDES. The two plants will add 82 megawatts to GPG’s capacity in Brazil.
